Welcome to WCIT 2004

The World Congress on  Information Technology (WCIT) is a biennial meeting attracting leading ICT (Information and Communication Technology) personalities, top corporate executives, distinguished academic professors and researchers, government officials and policy makers from all over the world, whose interaction and decisions shape the future of the ICT world.

The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), the congress owner, is an international consortium consisting of national ICT federations and industry associations representing over 90% of the respective world markets.

The Federation of Hellenic Information Technology and Communications Enterprises (SEPE), is the host of the 14th World Congress on Information Technology, which will take place in ATHENS, Greece, from the 19th to the 21st of May 2004.

The 14th Congress theme is "The Future Is Now" and its main objective is to:

  • expand on the notable business opportunities of the ICT sector that address market needs created by the convergence of the IT and Telecom industries
  • bridge the gap between cutting-edge solutions offered by the ICT sector and the goal of modern governments to upgrade public sector services provided to their citizens
  • create new opportunities for development and growth via business networking among the most important companies and representatives of the combined industries.

Athens, the host city, offers the ideal environment for both business and pleasure, ensuring the success of the Congress goals and promising an unforgettable experience.

MAIN TOPICS

WCIT 2004 will extensively cover some of the most cutting edge issues in Information Technology, Telecommunications and e-Government with additional sessions in R&D, consulting and market analysis.
